The proud owner of The Doggy Detangler, a one-to-one dog grooming salon based in Wigston, Leicestershire.
I opened The Doggy Detangler in June 2025, following a career change that came straight from the heart. After years of working as a senior accountant, I realised I wanted more from life than spreadsheets and deadlines. I took some time out in 2024 to reflect, and one thing kept coming back to me; animals. They’ve always been a source of joy, comfort, and connection in my life, and I knew it was time to pursue something more meaningful.
From growing up surrounded by pets, volunteering at the RSPCA, to stopping on walks to chat with every dog and owner I met, it was clear: I’ve always been a dog person.
But the turning point came when I took a nervous family member’s dog to a grooming appointment. She clung to me for reassurance, trusting me to help her through a stressful experience. That moment sparked a thought: “Why am I not doing this?” Why not create a space where dogs are treated with love, patience, and the kind of understanding that helps them feel safe and cared for; even when they’re getting a bath!
And so, The Doggy Detangler was born; a calm, welcoming space where dogs of all breeds receive gentle, personalised grooming with lots of love (and a few treats).
More About Me
I live here in Wigston with my partner, daughter, and our mischievous Golden Retriever, Maverick, who we brought home in October (my favourite time of year!). Maverick has a quirky, lovable personality and an impressive talent for getting as muddy as possible; which means I’ve had plenty of hands-on experience long before I started training!
I completed my grooming qualifications through Leicester Dog Grooming, training under Bernie and earning my International Professional Grooming (IPG) certification. I’m also a proud member of ICMG UK and have a Canine First Aid course booked for September 2025 to continue my commitment to professional care.
My Grooming Style
What makes The Doggy Detangler unique is the one-to-one grooming experience. Your dog will never be rushed, and they’ll never be just a number. I take the time to get to know each dog’s individual needs, preferences, and quirks.
Clients say I’m patient, caring, and trustworthy, and they appreciate how I keep them informed and involved throughout the grooming process. I have a warm and straightforward communication style, you’ll always know how your dog is doing and what to expect.
I especially love double-coated desheds (there’s nothing more satisfying than a big fluff transformation!) and doodle grooms, where you can really see a dog’s personality shine through after a tidy-up.

Clients often mention how fresh their dogs smell, how professional the salon looks, and most importantly how comfortable and happy their dogs are after each visit.
